Manchester City Games on the BBC

It’s been a while since our name graced a big athletics event since our debut at the 2014 Mano a Mano event, which featuring Wallace Spearmon Jr against Usain Bolt over 100m.

This was super special to us since it was our first ever creation of the LEGACY speed suit that we made especially for Wallace and our first global stage within athletics. So now in 2015, we welcome the ‘Great City Games’ in Manchester, which always brings world class athletics to the city’s streets in May. The event takes place on the Great CityGames track on Deansgate in the heart of the city and at the purpose built athletics arena in Albert Square. Not only does this provide a unique opportunity to see top athletes from across the globe compete in an urban environment but it also gives us our first BBC coverage within our own home country for the first time… an exciting moment for sure!

The event is expected to draw a crowd of 25,000 to Manchester city centre with a ray of athlete stars on show, but all eyes for us will be on the 2012 olympic champion over 400 metre hurdles, Félix Sánchez.

Not only is this Dominican Republic athlete reigning Olympic champion, he is a two-time Olympic gold medallist, having won the titles in 2004 and 2012. He was also world champion in 2001 and 2003. Just before turning 36, he set the Masters M35 World Record at 48.10.

A man who has acquired many nicknames over the years such as “Super Felix,” “the Invincible,” and ”Superman” …its quite fitting that he should rep a motivational brand build on a strong mindset and winning mentality.
